Bill Hayton
Associate Fellow, Chatham House and Author, ‘South China Sea: the struggle for power in Asia’
Bill Hayton is an Associate Fellow of Chatham House and author of ‘South China Sea: the struggle for power in Asia’, listed as one of The Economist’s books of the year in 2014. He was the BBC’s reporter in Vietnam in 2006/7 and his book ‘Vietnam: rising dragon’ was published in 2010 to excellent reviews. He spent 2013 working on media reform in Myanmar. He currently works for BBC News in London and is writing a book on Chinese history. His written work has appeared in the Financial Times, South China Morning Post, Foreign Policy and The Diplomat among other publications. He has presented his research to government institutions and think-tanks in the UK, the US, Canada, Vietnam the Philippines and several other countries.
